GEOMINE 2026 is the biannual international conference on geology and mining hosted by the School of Geology and Mining Engineering, Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST). It brings together researchers, industry professionals, policymakers, and students working in geosciences, mining engineering, ESG, geospatial systems, oil and gas, and digital transformation.
The conference takes place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on October 8–9, 2026.

Abstract Submission
How do I submit an abstract?
Follow these steps:
- Create an author account using your institutional email.
- Confirm your email by clicking the verification link sent to your inbox.
- Sign in and click "+ New abstract" on your dashboard.
- Choose the most appropriate sub-session (A1–G4), write your abstract, list co-authors, and accept the authorship declaration.
- Click Submit. You will receive an Abstract ID in the format
GM2026-XX-NNN.
What is the abstract word limit?
Abstracts should be 250–300 words (configured by the organizers and shown on the submission page). The platform enforces this range automatically.
Can I submit more than one abstract?
Yes, but with a limit. Each author may submit up to 3 abstracts as the corresponding submitter. You may also appear as a co-author on additional abstracts without affecting your own limit.
Can I edit my abstract after submission?
You can edit freely while the submission is in Draft state. Once you click Submit, the abstract is locked and routed to peer review. To request a change after submission, contact the secretariat.
How do I add co-authors?
On the submission form you can list up to 6 co-authors individually (name, affiliation, ORCID). For the 7th co-author and beyond, use the "Additional authors" text area to maintain authorship order.
What format does the Abstract ID follow?
Format: GM<year>-<subsession>-<NNN>. For example:
GM2026-A1-001— the first submission to sub-session A1GM2026-G4-027— the 27th submission to sub-session G4
Counters are per sub-session and start at 001.
I made a typo in the title — can I fix it?
If the submission is still in Draft, edit it yourself. If it has been submitted, email info@geomine.must.edu.mn with the Abstract ID and the correction.
Review Process
How is my abstract reviewed?
Every submission is sent for double-blind peer review to two independent reviewers matched to your sub-session. Reviewers do not see your name or affiliation, and you will not see theirs. After both reviews are complete, the session convener issues a final decision.
When will I receive the decision?
Decisions are typically issued around the decision notification date shown on your dashboard. You will receive an automatic email when the convener issues the decision; the result is also visible on your submission page.
What are the possible decisions?
- Accept — Oral: invited to give an oral presentation
- Accept — Poster: invited to present a poster
- Minor revisions: re-submit a revised version within the deadline; the same reviewers re-evaluate
- Reject: not included in the program (a brief reason is provided)
How do I submit a revision?
If your decision is "Minor revisions", a Submit revision button appears on your submission page along with the deadline. You may submit one revised version. After submission, your reviewers are automatically notified to re-evaluate.
Can I appeal a decision?
For procedural concerns or alleged factual errors, you may email the secretariat within 7 days of receiving the decision. Decisions on scientific merit are final.
Registration
Do I need to register separately from submitting an abstract?
Yes. Submitting an abstract and registering for the conference are separate steps. After your abstract is accepted (or independently of submission, if you are attending without presenting), you must complete registration payment to confirm your seat.
What does the registration fee include?
- Conference attendance (both days)
- Welcome reception
- Coffee breaks and lunches
- Conference materials and proceedings access
- Eligibility to present an accepted oral or poster contribution
Optional add-ons (gala dinner, field excursion, workshops) may have separate fees.
Is there a discount for students?
Yes, there is a reduced student rate. Both the regular and student amounts are shown on every sub-session page. To qualify, you may be asked to upload a valid student ID at check-in.
Can I cancel my registration?
Yes — contact the secretariat. Refund availability depends on how close to the conference date you cancel; the refund policy is included in your registration confirmation email.
Payment
How do I pay the registration fee?
You have two options, accessible from your submission detail page:
- 💳 Pay online (card) — secure card payment via Golomt Bank’s eCommerce gateway. The status is updated automatically.
- 📤 Bank transfer + manual claim — transfer the fee to the bank account shown on the page, then click "I have paid — claim payment". The secretariat verifies your transfer within a few working days.
Which cards are accepted for online payment?
All major Mongolian bank cards and international Visa / Mastercard cards processed through Golomt Bank’s secure eCommerce platform are accepted. Your card data is handled entirely by the bank — we never see your card number or CVV.
My online payment failed. What should I do?
If the bank returned an error (insufficient funds, expired card, etc.), your submission will be marked Failed. Use the bank transfer route instead, then click "I have paid — claim payment". For other issues contact info@geomine.must.edu.mn.
How long does manual payment verification take?
Usually 1–3 working days after the transfer reaches the conference account. You will receive an email confirmation once verified, and the status pill on your dashboard turns "✓ Verified".
Can I get a tax invoice / receipt?
Yes — invoices are issued by the conference secretariat. After your payment is verified, email info@geomine.must.edu.mn with your invoice details (organization name, registration number, address) and we will issue a formal receipt.
I paid by bank transfer but the system still shows "Not claimed". What do I do?
Make sure you have clicked the "📤 I have paid — claim payment" button on your submission detail page. This notifies the secretariat to verify the transfer. If you have already clicked it and it still shows "Not claimed" after 3 working days, please email the secretariat with your Abstract ID and a copy of the transfer receipt.
Travel & Visa
Do I need a visa to enter Mongolia?
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Citizens of many countries enjoy visa-free entry for short stays; others require a visa from a Mongolian embassy or e-Visa. Please check the current rules at the Consular Department of Mongolia before travel.
Can the conference provide a visa invitation letter?
Yes. Once your registration payment is verified, email info@geomine.must.edu.mn with the subject "Visa invitation" and include: your full name as it appears on your passport, passport number, nationality, date of birth, and the Mongolian embassy you will apply at. Allow 3–5 working days for the letter to be prepared.
