Ulaanbaatar Hotel will host GEOMINE 2026 — The Biennial International Conference on Geology and Mining, to be held on 8–9 October 2026.

Established in 1961, Ulaanbaatar Hotel is one of Mongolia’s best-known historic hotels and a prominent landmark in the capital city. Its central location provides convenient access to Sukhbaatar Square, the Government Palace, museums, restaurants, cultural attractions, and major business districts.

The venue offers conference and meeting facilities suitable for plenary sessions, parallel technical sessions, poster presentations, networking activities, and partner events. Its central location also makes it convenient for both international and domestic participants.

Located within walking distance of Sukhbaatar Square and many of Ulaanbaatar’s principal landmarks, the hotel provides an accessible and distinguished setting for academic exchange, professional networking, and international collaboration during GEOMINE 2026.

By air. International flights arrive at Chinggis Khaan International Airport (UBN), in the Khushig Valley about 50 km south of the city. Allow roughly 1–1.5 hours to reach the city centre by road.

• Taxi: official airport taxis are available at arrivals; confirm the fare before departing.
• Airport shuttle bus: a public bus service connects the airport with central Ulaanbaatar.
• Ride-hailing: local apps (e.g. UBCab) operate in the city.

Invitation letters. Registered participants who need an official invitation letter for their visa application may request one from the GEOMINE 2026 organizing committee.

GEOMINE 2026 takes place on 8–9 October 2026. Early October in Ulaanbaatar is autumn, and already cold.

• Daytime temperatures are typically a few degrees above freezing; nights often drop below 0 °C.
• The climate is dry and sunny, with the possibility of early snow.

What to pack: a warm coat, layered clothing, a hat and gloves, and comfortable walking shoes. Indoor venues are heated.
