GEOMINE 2026 will be hosted at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST), the country's leading institution for engineering, geology and mining sciences, located in the heart of Ulaanbaatar.
The conference sessions, keynote lectures and poster exhibition will take place in the main campus halls. The venue is within walking distance of Sukhbaatar Square, government and cultural landmarks, and a wide choice of hotels, restaurants and cafes.
Transport & airport
By air. International flights arrive at Chinggis Khaan International Airport (UBN), in the Khushig Valley about 50 km south of the city. Allow roughly 1–1.5 hours to reach the city centre by road.
- Taxi: official airport taxis are available at arrivals; confirm the fare before departing.
- Airport shuttle bus: a public bus service connects the airport with central Ulaanbaatar.
- Ride-hailing: local apps (e.g. UBCab) operate in the city.
Getting to MUST. The main campus is centrally located on Baga toiruu; most central hotels are a short taxi ride or walk away.

Entry requirements
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Many nationalities may enter Mongolia visa-free for short stays, while others require a visa obtained in advance.
Please verify the current rules with the nearest Mongolian embassy or consulate, or the official immigration authority, well before you travel.
Invitation letters. Registered participants who need an official invitation letter for their visa application may request one from the GEOMINE 2026 organizing committee.
Practical tips
GEOMINE 2026 takes place on 8–9 October 2026. Early October in Ulaanbaatar is autumn, and already cold.
- Daytime temperatures are typically a few degrees above freezing; nights often drop below 0 °C.
- The climate is dry and sunny, with the possibility of early snow.
What to pack: a warm coat, layered clothing, a hat and gloves, and comfortable walking shoes. Indoor venues are heated.
