Sub-session description

Academic Scope

This sub-session focuses on downstream processing technologies, refining systems, and the digital transformation of oil and gas operations. As the energy industry increasingly adopts intelligent technologies, there are opportunities to improve operational efficiency, product quality, and process sustainability through advanced digital solutions.
The sub-session welcomes contributions on petroleum refining, petrochemical processing, process control, and production optimization. Research involving artificial intelligence, automation, industrial IoT, Big Data analytics, and predictive maintenance is particularly encouraged.
Studies demonstrating how digital technologies improve operational performance, reduce costs, increase reliability, and support smarter decision-making across downstream facilities are highly relevant. The session aims to foster innovation in modern processing systems and industrial digitalization.
