Session Scope

The A Session focuses on the governance, societal, and systemic dimensions of mineral resource development in a rapidly changing global environment. It provides a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, mineral policy, investment systems, occupational safety, health, and capacity building.

The session integrates academic research, policy perspectives, and industry practices to address the challenges of sustainable and responsible resource development. It is designed as a structured hybrid platform that combines scientific presentations with policy dialogue and stakeholder engagement.

Through its sub-sessions, the A Session seeks to connect resource governance, economic systems, public participation, safety culture, and innovation in education and training. It welcomes contributions that advance evidence-based policymaking, strengthen institutional capacity, and promote socially responsible and future-oriented approaches to mineral resource development.
