Session Scope

This session addresses the full spectrum of oil, gas, and energy systems, covering upstream exploration and production, midstream infrastructure, downstream processing, and the transition toward low-carbon energy technologies. As global energy systems undergo significant transformation driven by climate change, energy security concerns, and technological innovation, there is an increasing need for integrated and forward-looking approaches across the entire energy value chain.
The session focuses on advanced technologies and methodologies applied to hydrocarbon systems, including subsurface exploration, drilling engineering, and reservoir management. It also explores the development of efficient and resilient infrastructure systems for the transportation, storage, and distribution of energy resources.
In addition, the session highlights digital transformation in oil and gas systems, including the use of artificial intelligence, big data, and IoT technologies to optimize processes, enable predictive maintenance, and improve operational efficiency.
A key component of the session is the transition to sustainable, low-carbon energy systems. Topics such as carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), methane emission reduction, hydrogen technologies, and alternative energy solutions are emphasized, particularly in the context of emerging economies and urban energy systems.
Structured into dedicated sub-sessions, this session provides a comprehensive platform for interdisciplinary exchange among engineers, geoscientists, industry professionals, and policymakers, supporting the development of efficient, resilient, and sustainable energy systems.
